This beautiful facility sits on 17 acres of olive groves and offers tours and a bistro menu featuring nationally recognized produce from the Texas Hill Country. The patio is a favorite for guests, where you can eat and admire the view of the orchard. Walking tours run Tuesday through Sunday and offer a guided exploration of the property. You will visit different varieties of olive trees grown on site while learning about planting and harvesting practices. Visits to the mill take place on Fridays and Saturdays.






Durant olive mill


Durant olive mill, Dayton, Oregon

Founded in 2008, Durant Olive Mill is home to 17 hectares of olive trees and a state-of-the-art Italian mill. Durant produces extra virgin olive oil ground on site and is also home to one of the Pacific Northwest’s only oliotecas, according to its website. Olioteca loosely translates to “the experience of making and tasting olive oilâ€. In Durant, the olive harvest and milling takes place each fall with a blend of olives from their own orchard and other local farms. The best part? There are many tours and tasting options in Durant, most of which include wine, a mill tour, olive oil tastings and more.

According to the Woodpecker Trail website, the farm tours, offered only on Fridays and Saturdays, share the history of olive oil, explain the meaning of the term “extra virgin” and highlight the production of Woodpecker certified olive oils. Not only will the guests visit the olive grove to observe the different varieties of olives and learn how the trees are tended, but they will also be able to listen to the guides discussing regenerative farming techniques, olive cultivation, harvesting techniques, of the grinding and cold pressing process. The tour includes a visit to the Woodpecker Longleaf Pine plantation and ends with a guided tasting of Woodpecker’s olive oils and balsamic vinegar reductions.






Kiler Ridge


Kiler Ridge Olive Farm, Paso Robles, California

Kiler Ridge Olive Farm’s fresh and flavorful olive oils are produced from Italian olive cultivars grown directly on the beautiful Kiler Ridge property. You can participate in a tasting from Thursday to Monday or take advantage of a tour from Friday to Sunday to admire the breathtaking view of the surrounding orchards and vineyards. In October, November and December, Kiler Ridge harvests its own olives and releases limited quantities of extremely fresh olives. Olio Nuovo, which means “new oil†in Italian. From March to May, they usually release the season’s certified, clarified extra virgin olive oil.
