NCODA Announces New Continuing Education Platform for the Medically Embedded Oncology Community
NCODA University Offers Free Accredited Learning Via Virtual and in-person events
CAZENOVIA, NY, July 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Empowering all oncology stakeholders with easy access to patient-centered education and collaborative learning opportunities is fundamental to NCODA, Inc. Today, NCODA launches NCODA Universitya new division of the organization, which will allow medically integrated oncology professionals to obtain high-level training in an accessible, functional, diversified format that meets current practice needs.
NCODA University will use a four-column structure to encompass educational initiatives specifically designed for each of the different facets: members, trainees (students, residents, and fellows), industry team members, and patients. “This new educational platform will help us continue to provide quality education to a variety of different oncology stakeholders – from our students and industry partners, to our clinical members and the patients they serve,” said Michael ReffRPh, MBA, Founder and Executive Director of NCODA.
Firmly committed to lifelong learning, NCODA University, led by Julianne darlingPharmD, BCOP (Education Manager), will draw on resources developed by NCODA, such as the Oral Chemotherapy Training (OCE) and Intravenous (IVE) Cancer Treatment Education sheets. In addition, the program will meet the important needs of oncology professionals with continuing education (CE) activities, a virtual library of expert speakers, Integrated Medical Pharmacy (MIP) Meaning Training and learning modules designed to equip all participants with the information needed to excel in oncology.
Not only will NCODA University support clinical and industry professionals, but the program will fill a gap in oncology education for pharmacy students. By working closely with NCODA-affiliated Schools/Colleges of Pharmacy, the need for improved oncology-focused courses was identified. Pharmacy students, residents, and fellows will be able to engage with NCODA University for learning opportunities designed to enhance the pre-graduation oncology curriculum.
NCODA University is a free benefit for members and is now available at NCODA.org.
The program will provide ongoing in-person training at the next NCODA Fall Summit on October 27-29, 2022 in Orlando Florida.
