Where and When GameStop and Amazon’s Upcoming PS5 Restocks Might Drop Leftovers

Although we’re over a month away from the end of the holiday shopping season, it can still be difficult to get your hands on a new PlayStation 5 on store shelves or at online retailers. However, it’s believed that GameStop or Amazon could have a PS5 drop online in the next few days, and you can watch out for that, and also pick up some game essentials while you wait.

With silicon shortages and a pesky pandemic in the middle of a holiday season, it was the perfect storm to make it difficult to acquire the latest and greatest consoles from Microsoft and Sony. Luckily, the consoles keep flowing, and the number of scalpers is dwindling as more and more people manage to get their hands on a console. If you want to join this semi-exclusive group of people who can play all the PlayStation game exclusives, a good place to start would be to join the GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro Program for $14.99/year. This program can give you exclusive early access to console drops, one of which could arrive in early February after PS5 in-store restocks earlier this month left GameStop with additional or remaining consoles yet to be sold.

Except this, it is also a good idea to keep an eye on Amazon’s PlayStation stock because consoles can arrive at any time and will be listed online (and then sold out) fairly quickly. To help you, you can follow Twitter accounts like @PS5StockAlertswhich can give you early information on when a console will drop.

The other option here is to go straight to the horse’s mouth and registration with Sony for your chance to score a console. By logging in with a PlayStation Network Login ID, you may be selected and contacted by email to purchase one of the limited PS5 consoles available. Until one of those things happens, you can pick up some accessories that you’ll probably need to play on day one. That includes things like extra controllers, upgrade SSDs for those larger game libraries, and headsets like the Razer Black Shark V2 Prowhich we have all linked below:

All told, most people still struggle to get a console, but hopefully this information will give you a head start on your competition. If you manage to snag a console by following our guide, let us know in the comments below. Stay frosty and happy console hunting.
